What it is, in plain terms

What is an AI agent, without the jargon?
A colleague you talk to instead of a screen you click through. You say what you want in your own words — 'quote this lead for 40 units with our usual discount' — and it does the reading, the calculating and the drafting, then asks you to approve.
How is that different from a chatbot?
A chatbot answers. An agent acts — inside Odoo, with your permissions, on real records. And because it acts, everything it does is previewed, tiered by risk and written to an audit trail.
Can it do something we didn't intend?
It can only do what your Odoo user can do, and anything that changes data shows you a dry-run preview first. Higher-risk actions require explicit approval before they execute.
Does every team get the same agent?
No. Sales, finance, inventory and management each get an agent shaped for their work, with access scoped to what that team should see.
Can it work with our email and business documents?
Yes, when those connections and skills are included in your deployment. The agent can combine Odoo context with enabled enterprise document sources and can triage an inbox into draft replies. What technology is it built on?
